The ministerial staff of FBCScottsdale attended The Alpha Conference 2023 last week in Fort Lauderdale, FL, January 26-27. We heard some good speakers and attended some excellent workshops. We came away with some insights.
First, Alpha will take prayer. If you are not in Alpha, if you have not invited anyone, you can still participate by keeping Alpha, its leaders, and all guests in prayer. We must bathe this endeavor in prayer.
Second, Alpha will take time to become part of the fabric of the church. This isn't a quick program. It is a long-term mechanism to bring others to Jesus. Did I mention the need for prayer? That won't change over time.
Finally, God uses Alpha. We heard story after story of people coming to know Jesus and then bringing others who came to know Jesus and then bringing others to Jesus, and so on. God will use this to bring others to grace.
Summation: pray, pray, pray. And trust the Holy Spirit to move.
