Book of Ephesians

Sundays at 9:15a In Fellowship Hall (Starts on September 15)

Craig Hazeltine will be diving into the Book of Ephesians.

In Ephesians, Paul reveals the significance of God’s work in both the corporate and individual Christian life. For example, the corporate body of Christ has received the spiritual blessings of redemption in Christ, has been rescued from wrath in Christ according to the decree of God, and must pursue the peace Christ provides between Jewish and Gentile believers. Yet, it is the individual believer who receives the Spirit through a faith-response to the gospel, is saved in a way that no one can boast about saving themselves, and must put on the new self, shedding the old self of thievery, unrighteous anger, and malice.

Ephesians invites us to consider what God has made us to be, do, and have in Christ as a display of the gospel to the world. It is a book worth reviewing frequently, so that we do not become prideful in our own successes and strength, but instead, focus on the revelation of Christ’s accomplishment on the cross for His bride.
