Chaneni House November Update

Chaneni House continues to be open three mornings a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, offering free clothing, household items, and food to help the poor and the homeless. However, Delilah Nelms reports that God is opening more doors for Chaneni to meet people's needs in ever expanding ways.

We now are connecting with children in our community in two more ways. We are able to help through our church's partnership with Mentoring Kids. In addition, we are receiving referrals from the social workers in the Scottsdale Unified School District, usually through the district office, and have been able to provide needed clothing and food.

We continue to help patients at Banner Behavioral Health who are admitted with just the clothes on their backs.

We are meeting the needs of displaced persons through two different organizations. Each week Pastor Angel of Monte Vista Cross Cultural Church is receiving migrants who have been processed through ICE. Last week he received 107 folks who are being sent on. Many are going to colder parts of the country and need warm shirts, coats, and sweaters. In addition, we are helping with clothing for those still waiting. Through East Valley Network for Hope, we are sending clothing to shelters in Ajo and in Sonoyta, Sonora.

The need is so great! We are grateful for the leadership of Delilah Nelms and Jan Tannenbaum, for the faithfulness of the other volunteers, and above all for God's continued guidance as we strive to offer help as he directs.

Matthew 25:37-40 (The Message) - “Then those ‘sheep’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?’ Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me."
