Baptism of J Stacks

TESTIMONY OF J STACKS -

"Even though I grew up in a christian home and went to church my whole life, I didn’t understand who Jesus was and why people were raising their hands during worship services. I mainly found security/happiness in my school activities not knowing that God was there and that he had plans for me. The first time that I heard of the gospel was at my old church, Open Arms. I was in children’s ministries there and our old leader started talking about the gospel. When I first heard of the gospel, I was very confused on what it really meant and didn’t become curious about it until the 7th grade.

My perspective of Christ began to change while I was at UCYC, because while the youth was there the pastor started talking about somethings that were really deep and more like your relationship with God and my brain instantly went to a thought where I was like “I know I go to church every Sunday and Wednesday but like have I actually started to get to know about him”, right there I realized that I did know him. There were a lot of struggles that went through my mind before fully accepting him as my savior but the main one was not knowing

what he would do with my life and anything he had planned for me. The reason why I finally accepted him is because I saw everyone accept him and I was like maybe accepting him would be a good thing and it really was a great thing.

I have a lot of favorite Bible verses but the main one is 1 Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” That verse means a lot to me not only because we did it in youth groups but because it explains a lot that I agree with.

My life is very different now ever since I have accepted the lord. My attitude has changed by having me be nicer to people who aren’t my favorite and just my well-being in total. There are a lot of things that motivate me now, but the main ones are friends, family, significant others, and mainly God. I live for what I'm passionate about which is performing arts and also for the love of God that has been with me throughout the struggles of my life. I know that my life will never be perfect, but the Lord helps me deal with that fact by showing me that in everyone's life there would be some struggles and that he would help us get through it. I’m most grateful that I have accepted the Lord as my savior and that he will guide me through life."
